Onshoring as Competitive Advantage

Last month we told you about the Manufacturing Business Conference to be held at the Kellogg School of Management this coming May.  Yours truly will be moderating a panel discussion titled Onshoring: Domestic Manufacturing as a Competitive Advantage.  Ironically it is scheduled right before a panel discussion on the Challenges of Outsourcing Manufacturing to China, so I guess my job is to make the following discussion a mute point or at least a non sequitur.

The members of my panel have been set, and I'm happy to announce they include several people and companies we've lauded on this blog.

It will be a real honor to meet these people in person, and hopefully as a group tell some other people how manufacturing can be globally competitive from U.S.-based factories.  The Conference itself is sponsored by several companies we've mentioned, such as Danaher, Harley-Davidson, Eaton, ITW, Emerson, and John Deere.
