Yes, it's been a while since I've reported on the performance of the Superfactory 20... the twenty lean company stocks we decided to track a year ago. I'm sure you can understand why, but we need to wrap up 2008, dismal as it may have been. You may recall that in 2007 the Superfactory 20 outperformed the S&P 500 by 19%. Well the good news is that in 2008 the SF20 again outperformed the S&P500, albeit by only 4%. Of course the bad news is that the SF20 was still down over 33%. I'll also issue the standard disclaimer that I own four of these stocks, and am happy that one of them is Wabtec.
So here are the full year results. We'll continue this same list in 2009, but in late January we hope to announce a rather significant expansion of this analysis method. Stay tuned.
