The next annual conference of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence will be held in Toronto this October 20-24. Each of the last several conferences has sold out, usually within a month of the

conference date itself. This year may be different.
I was just informed that there are now, almost ten months prior to the conference, over 1,000 paid registrations. A new record by quite a long shot.
AME conferences are uniquely valuable. Created by practitioners for practitioners, there are a wealth of presentations by real people at real companies that have created real excellence. Tack on the numerous tours, keynoters, workshops, and networking opportunities and it actually becomes difficult to figure out how to take advantage of it all. Lean manufacturing is obviously a primary focus, but past conferences include discussions on lean healthcare, lean education, lean government (especially the military), and even lean in non-profit organizations.
